It's such a silly stereotype to think that the Chinese - specifically mainland China - blocks anything that has the number 'four' in it. It still exists there and is widely used.

 

No, it's not 'ultra' sensitive, us Chinese would rather just not use it with the connotations it has, but that doesn't mean we won't use it.

Specifically blocking frequently encountered/used numbers would draw much more attention to them and their alleged meaning than just not doing that. Since I know from personal experience that some media reports on some countries are far from being unbiased or even accurate, I am inclined to take reports on China with a large grain of salt.

This does not mean however that there aren't any weird events happening at all in those countries. I remember reading about several cases of airplane passengers tossing coins at the engines for good luck during boarding. While some people might use those reports to extrapolate something concerning intelligence levels on the population, I rather think these incidents are caused by insufficient information given to some people who might never have seen a plane before.

I mean, you could be considered a fake gay, can be beaten with no legal repercussions for your injuries, spat or pepper sprayed on, banned from online communities and treated badly in public in general for supporting Trump.

This is my big problem with politics: people justify acting uncivilized because they have differently political opinions. I really don’t appreciate that; rather, I’d have an old fashioned discussion and see what we do agree on rather than being violent to act against one’s opinions.

That's pretty bad from what I heard. I think Vox(?) wants to have rules enforced on someone for hate speech. He's allowed to say what he wants, but he doesn't have to bring up identity to make his points. I think the whole situation is wrong. No false equivalence, you're just all wrong.

No, because Crowder explicitly used descriptors Maza uses for himself.

 

This also follows Maza calling for mass deplatforming political opponents. And Vox escalated the non issue (Maza literally mocked Crowder in 2018 and challenged him to step it up as Cowder is a comedian) to a scortched earth scenario. This isn't "mean guy said mean thing!!1!," it's attempted deplatformation.
