free space on ssd

I have a ssd on my pop system and it has to 2.1mb of free space on both ends of the disk data277540235_Screenshotfrom2019-06-0512-27-49.png.02f2616c305f8a73be729838db0a90d5.pngwhy?

I live in misery USA. my timezone is central daylight time which is either UTC -5 or -4 because the government hates everyone.
