so i got a old working laptop from a freind. i mean real old btw

 

its a toshiba c650-15l

 

id be honest kind of a cute laptop for anything

got a ssd on it so my younger brother can use it for web search and mainly just web things

 

thing is after opening it to clean it up i saw the cpu is mounted and not a part of the mobo.

and i wanted to know what is the max best case cpu i can shove in it for him

its really just so it will be quicker and max i found online is a i3 370m that is allready like 50% beter but wanted to know if anything beter can be sloted in.

right now btw it has a pentium t4500.

and has said best i found was i3 370m fitting there from what userbenchmark says even tho i saw some1 running a i5 on it?

can see if u go lower the best 1's and he has a i5 2430m.

 

in other words what im asking is what can be the best thing i can put it in. thx again

mobo: asus tuf pro x570

gpu: 3090 FE 

ram: 32gb G.SKILL Trident Z 3200 c14

psu: Antec HCP1300w Platinum (overkill i know...got it for a good price)

 

thats all needed right?...i didnt study for this exam....

Pentium T4500 is old Core 2 Duo technology.  This is before Core i so nothing Core i related will fit.

If you try one of these and the bios does not recognize it, your laptop will probably not boot up.  Most of these are not much faster than what you have so I would not bother.
