So, recently I picked up Battlefront (the "new" one) and my PC keeps tripping the breaker to my room. I've got a 390x and an i7-6700k OCd to 4.5 on 1.35v. I know it some power hungry stuff, but it cant be tripping my 20 amp? Could it be my PSU going out? it only happens in Battlefront, but I've run things like 3d mark for longer without any problems. All temps are well below 80c and the PSU is a 750W from Corsair. I've had it for just about 5 years so I'm thinking its the PS.

ok, I just put my CPU OC back to stock and it still trips!

Are you sure it's the actual pc? I'm betting the outlet it's plugged in has a problem, I kinda doubt it's the pc, I've never heard of that before. I'm actually experienced in electrical wiring, so it kinda doesn't make sense what you are saying. Do you know how many plugs and lights are on that circuit, and which ones are being used at that time? a typical 20 amp can handle about 2400 watts, unless something is faulty

In some situations, all of the nearby bedrooms are hooked up to a single breaker.

If your family members have a bunch of electronics in their rooms (e.g. TV, computers, A/C, etc), it might be pushing to the breaker's limit.

E.g. if the breaker trips, does it just affect YOUR room, or does it kill the power to any of the other places inside your house?

Otherwise, it could be the PSU acting up.

plug a vaccumm or hair dryer into the same plug and if that doesn't trip it then there's a problem with the power supply

I'll try that, thanks!

Oh, and now that you mention it, I do probably have too many things up to one outlet. my pc, monitor, a 15w halogen, a 2.1 speaker system, a tube amp, and my wifi extender.
