Any way to transfer music to ipod nano without itunes?

Hi all,

I'm currently in the process of selling my ipod Nano (7th gen). A question that I have been asked is whether there is any way you can transfer music from a pc/mac to the ipod without the use of iTunes. I know that there are many programs that solve the issue however I've noticed that all of them require you to pay to use, and only let you trial out the software. So does anyone have any recommendations as to how to do this / any freeware that I can recommend to the person that may buy my device?

(The reason why they are asking this is that they want to be assured that there is an easy or easy-ish way to transfer music onto the device in the event that iTunes shuts down.)

Thanks!

pirate the software

Firstly, I highly doubt iTunes will shut down before you stop using the iPod (hell, before the iPod stops working and is beyond repair). Secondly, even if iTunes did shut down, you just wouldn't be able to use online services; local music transfer would still work.

Ha, I guess that's true, I may as well tell them that it'll be fine, and even in the event of it shutting down, you will still be able to use the file transfer side of iTunes (If I got that wrong, let me know aha ) ?

Its cuz they firmly believe what the news says... I don't know what I can really say to them to persuade them that it'll be okay to buy and use for as long as the device lasts ?

Seeing the base of customers Apple has, iTunes won't be stopping anytime soon.

EDIT: I stand corrected

I believe it's because she read this section of Bloomburg that made her concerned haha

"End of iTunes

iTunes has been the way Apple users listen to music, watch movies and TV shows, hear podcasts, and manage their devices for almost two decades. This year, Apple is finally ready to move into a new era. The company is launching a trio of new apps for the Mac – Music, TV, and Podcasts – to replace iTunes. That matches Apple’s media app strategy on iPhones and iPads. Without iTunes, customers can manage their Apple gadgets through the Music app."

Even if that's the case, your iPod should still work with "Music", whatever the hell that is.

Also, quote people when you reply. It's the little arrow below their reply.
