I am wondering if is worth to wait for the new Ryzen 3rd gen JUST for buying a Ryzen 5 2600 for a smaller price? 

Shortly: After the new Ryzen CPUs are release will the 2nd gen CPUs get a lower price?

Yes, new CPUs releasing will just about always drive down prices on current-gen chips.

 

Stores have to lower prices to clear out all their old stock to make way for the new product.

No one knows.  You can assume prices will continue to fall as they have been for months, but I wouldn't expect a huge price drop just when 3xxx is out.  Retailers aren't going to just try to purge inventory on great CPU's just because something better is out.

 

They have cost of goods issues to deal with.

Look to ebay, people will be replacing their processors and selling theirs for cheap

Looking at some price graphs (in the US), I can see first gen Ryzen chips went a lot lower in price after Ryzen 2000 was released. 

Although the Ryzen 1600 and 1600X did not significantly drop though, the drop in price was more noticable on a 1700.

 

If they were going to drop in price, they would be 50 USD off at max, a month later. But seeing the current prices of the 2600, I don't really  expect prices to decrease.

Microcenter is STILL offloading $80 R5 1600s here in STL.  Like this for months now.  My buddy was there last week and they said they still had 1 pallet left to get rid of.  Likely will happen with the 2600 series (though I just don't see it hitting $80)
