Hi Everyone,

I'm planning a build that's mid-range that's mostly for gaming but will most likely be an all around rig (I do some video/photo/audio editing, coding work, etc).

Originally, I wanted a compact build (Mini ITX) that would be easy to bring around but considering that I'm living in the Philippines, I don't think I can go with that option since during the summer it gets really hot and I'm worried my thermals will get too high so instead I'm at least going with a Micro ATX build.

My budget would be around $700 max (without GPU)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 ($170)

Motherboard: MSI B450M Bazooka Plus ($93)

GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ RX 470 4GB (Reused from old rig)

Memory: G. Skill Trident Z RGB Dual16GB 3000Mhz ($130)

PSU: Seasonic Focus+ 550FX ($88)

HDD: WD Blue 1TB SSHD (Reused from old rig)

M.2 NVME: Adata XPG SX6000 Pro 256GB ($52)

CPU Cooler: ID Cooling Frostflow X 240 AIO ($55)

Chassis: Tecware M3 ($33)

I'll be reusing the GPU and HDD from my old rig for now but I'll probably upgrade the GPU somewhere along the way (or when the new Navi GPUs come out)

Any thoughts if this build is ok? Or if there are parts I need to change out?

Thanks!

How about another PSU and not focus+ from seasonic, like pure power 11,Bitfenix whisper,RMx,Cougar GX-F

I chose the Seasonic Focus+ Gold since it's a Tier A PSU from the forums here. I haven't seen those PSUs too since I'm basing off of Dynaquest. I'll try and check em out too though!

It's somewhat pretty close, I'll have to consider some of the parts. Thanks for that!

From what I've seen on PHP PSU selection and pricing, the focus gold isn't a bad prospect.

Retailers out there push Corsair VS series like they are high end gear.

You know if focus gold don't have that problem I would argue it with the likes of Bitfenix Whisper or something.

Its paired with an RX470. Should be fine lol. I'm pretty sure that was the plus gold having the instakill issues, but I could be wrong.

OCP problem, but i would rather buy other stuff if the price is lower or the same

I never actually knew that there were issues with the Focus+ Gold. I mean it'd be fine if I were just using the RX 470 but I do plan on upgrading at one point or another. I might actually try and look for an alternative.
