200 euro headphones

SuperStroopwafel

Hey  guys,

My birthday is coming and I want new and good headphones. The budget is 200 euro. If I need a AMP please keep it in budget max 30 euro more.

Music:

- Hardstyle

- Hardcore

- Trap

- Sometimes some rap

- Just 'normal' music like Coldplay, you get it.

Thanks  guys

For some headphones I can use onboard audio to give enough power. 32ohm for example, 16ohm per driver,

For 200 eur headphones you should still get a dac for that quality.

WHAT GENRE OF MUSIC? You don't just get Hardcore music. Hardcore is a sub-genre.

Hardcore techno I guess, since hardstyle is also electronic.

Open or closed?

Open: I would recommend the Beyerdynamic's DT990 Pro 250 Ohm, although you probably need an amp, since it's quite a high impedance pair of headphones. Unless someone can recommend a good amp under 60 euro's, this will probably go over budget Very nice highs and lows, though.

For closed have a look at the DT770 Pro 80 Ohm or the Custom One Pro's, for both an amp is not needed.

Guys, according to OP's profile, he has an MSI Z87 Gaming board, which has the 600 ohm headphone amp. Then those Beyerdynamic DT770 and DT990 (250 ohm) are both good choices, depending on if you want open or closed.

Does open and closed make a difference in quality, Otherwise I dont care

Open headphones _usually_ have a more open, "easy listening" sound, where as closed have a more in-your-head sound, usually more bass, and noise isolation. I myself prefer closed headphones, but that's because of "studio monitoring" headphones, which give a very accurate sound, and somewhat flat / neutral sound. But those DT770 and DT990 are nice first-time headphones, if you're looking for a nice bass experience.
