Hello there,

This post is not what you may think it is, I am just curious as it would be useful to know before I buy something.

First of all, I own an R9 290 yet it only has a single display port on it. For me to use all three of my 75Hz monitors at the same time in AMD Eyefinity, I need to be using all display port. So, here's where my question comes in, would I be able to buy a Quadro NVS 450 for example (with 4 display port connectors on it) and plug my monitors into only that card yet still get AMD Eyefinity? Or would it become NVidia Surround? Then, when playing games even though the 290 wouldn't be plugged into any monitors, would I still get a display out at my full fps of the 290 from the card?

Thanks, BP.

I think with eyefininty they all need to be plugged into amd gpus at least, I think the same gpu

You should be able to run eyefinity off dvi or hdmi, thats what im doing now.

Yeah, I can run Eyefinity absolutely fine now, however only at 60Hz. If I want to run at 75Hz (native monitor refresh rate) then I need to be on all display port connections hence why I am asking. Even if that'd work with NVidia surround, I'm still curious as to whether games would work still at the 290's performance.

couldn't you also just get a display port mst hub to run 3 displays from the one display port connector.

Yeah, but the price of these is too expensive for me currently.
