2670 FTW.

Higher clock speed, same total cores, less power, less heat.

yeah the single 2670 will be faster.

even if you used two 2609's in separate machine with the same task split between the two they would be slower than the single 2670

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

2609 is not hyper-threaded... so less threads in total?

Do you think it is worth it to get 64 gb ram for this dual setup?

2609 is like an i5, no HT.

I assume you will have ddr3 reg memory, yes it's cheap as hell.

64gb for less than $100.

Is it good enough to utilize all 64though? It can technically go to 386...

there's no reason to use two e5-2609's. a single consumer grade desktop from a few years ago is basically the same speed.

Well depending on the workload.

Day to day usage will never use that big.

But if you edit video or 3d then yes, more memory the better.

Other usage is to have a Ramdisk, which will be a blazing fast drive.

I’ll be hosting some simple servers, but yeah, 64gb ddr3 ecc reg is like 80 on Newegg.
