So.…. My daughter's laptop is about ready to die and a guy locally wanted to trade his MacBook AIR which is what she wants for my Gaming PC that was like 5 yrs old so I did the deal.... Now....

I need to build a new PC...

I have left a Micro ATX Case... 240 gig SSD ….  500 Watt Power Supply and that's pretty much it.

So.… Id kinda like to target a Ryzen 5 2600..... I did Order an Aurous B450M board and a 2200G the other day before this trade happened but I now think I want the better CPU.  So ill return that...  I have a 16 Gig kit of Corsair DDR 3000 Vengence memory ordered...  I was going to either run off integrated or something, but My daughter is actually going to be giving me about 300 bucks for my computer to get the Mac that she wanted...

I have kind of been eyeing the Vega 56 but I know ill have to put a way bigger PS in … Question would be can I get away with the 500 Watt Supply and something like the 1660 ti?  And does the 1660 make a good pairing with a 2600???

Kind of at a loss since I didn't really expect to be in need of a pc right away?

If that Motherboard is ok Ill keep it but I am going to return the APU and get a 2600 but I need a good 1080 Gaming graphics card... it doesn't have to break the bank and maybe a 580 would be fine???

580 would do the trick. What games do you plan to play?

that'll never work

or for a short time, before the psu catches fire

smart is meant for like office pc's with no gpu, and even then i'd personally prefer dc-dc

Id like to keep the Micro ATX case... I did already buy the gigabyte board so as long as its not a POS I would like to go ahead and use it...

it's not

i'll make it clear to you for once

group regulation and vega

it doesn't work, or ripple hard

@Stefan Payne did some testing a while back with a vega 64, and many simply wouldn't work, whine or start scratching

Well there is only a 15 dollar difference between the 2600 and the x is the better cooler on the X worth 15 bucks or should I just put an aftermarket cooler on the 2600 and call it a day?

what about a 1600? i've seen them so damn cheap the last while, and includes a cooler that's around a 212
