Help please!

Mr_Argon

So I bought a MSI Gaming X RX 480 second hand. It had been used for mining. When I plug it into my system (i5 3570, GA B75M D3H) the lights turn on and the fans spin up, but the monitor (the monitor works, I tested) doesn't detect a display. When I take the GPU out and use the integrated graphics everything is fine. I can test it using another system, but do you guys think it's broken? Or do you think that it still is set up for mining and that's why there is no video output? Can you tell me how to make sure?

I have an Antec Truepower Classic 600W. I did plug it in. I'll try using another power connector, maybe it's just a faulty power connector

I just got the PSU, but it's second hand. It was working in perfect condition according to the old owner though

i'm a bit skeptical about second hand psu's in general, tho it's an okay-ish psu

do you have any other gpu on hand? or integrated graphics?

Every PSU works and every PSU have it's own problem, used PSU is like you're trying to waste money or even burn down the house.

Guys this isn't about the PSU. Can I please get told how to get the proper BIOS onto the GPU? If I have problems with my PSU, then that's my fault, but right now I'm trying to get my GPU working

When you have the card installed but use the integrated Intel for output, is the 480 detected when you enter Windows?

I can't use the integrated graphics when the card is plugged in. I have to take out the card for the integrated to work

Are you sure about that? (although the BIOS is set to use the integrated graphics first)

To be able to try flashing a non-working card you have to be able to boot off a second card or an integrated GPU.

Well whatever it's compatible with tbh, but follow your gpu .you don't want to accidentally brick it.

Yeah, I'll try again, but I'm not too hopeful. I do have another GPU, and that one does work (Sapphire RX 460) but my motherboard only has one x16 slot, I'm pretty sure that the other one is a x4.

I just retested, it doesn't output a display from the integrated graphics when the GPU is turned on
