First of all, I have an Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0. I have two Sandisk Ultra Plus' which I intended to use RAID 0 on. I have them plugged into the two AsMedia Sata ports and the Barracuda in the normal (SB950 controller). When I enter the menu to create a RAID volume (Ctrl + F) only my Seagate Barracuda is detected but not the SSDs, Windows detects both SSDs when booted.

Won't I experience better performance using the AsMedia ports

No, the cpu ports are faster.

CPU ports dont exist. What you meant were the native controllers.

@Op you have to use the gray colored ports and nothing else. Asmedia controllers are just junk

AMD SB950 controller :

5 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), gray

1 x eSATA port(s), red

ASMedia® PCIe SATA controller :

2 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), navy blue

The "cpu ports" are chipset based. I am not an idiot. I am in a rush. Back on topic, you are correct, grey ports only. Asmedia is a joke.

That chipset is one of the controllers the south bridge contains and the southbridge never been your CPU.

I know. I have build a ton of PCs. Please understand, I am on a phone and have a lot to do so I will say things as quickly and simply as I can.

Well be honest do you really think the OP would understand what a CPU port is if I didn't response on this thread?

No, as I said earlier. "Please understand, I am on a phone and have a lot to do so I will say things as quickly and simply as I can."

Use the grey sata ports.

You have to set the Sata type to RAID in the bios before using the RAID utility.

You also have to assign the drives to use in the RAID.

Then you have to tell it which RAID to use and the size of stripe to use. If you have never used AMD RAID before it's not exactly first user friendly.

It may be different for your board, but I believe that the Intel and Asmedia controllers have separate bios splash screens, which will pop up one after the other.  Make sure you're trying to get in the right one.
