Hi, so i've noticed that my psu started working very loud, i cleaned all the dust in there but still it keeps working loud. Should i buy a new one? My psu is modecom mc 620 carbon. Thanks

i mean, surprise with a crappy group regulated psu that can't even supply 400 watts on it's 12v

swap it immediately

So you meant, that i should get a new one right? But like it worked perfectly for 3 years, and now i changed my cpu and gpu. and after 2 weeks it started to do these loud noises.

You definitely should. Make sure any new one you get can support your CPU+ GPU requirements. Right now, your PSU may not be good enough for them, possibly causing the loud noises. If you list your parts, someone could find you a suitable psu replacement.

if i say it's cheap... i underestimate

it might work for a while, but when it stops... it'll take other components with it. better safe than sorry, especially as that thing can't even hold more than 400 watts

For a cheap PSU,

Bitfenix BF450G ($59)

For one which will give you more breathing room/ last longer

Corsair RM550x ($109)

From some quick searches, your pc has about 400w of power draw, so 450-550w PSU would be decent.

450-500 is enough, anything from at least tier b on this list

if you look at the label, you see every 12 volt rail can provide 17 amps per rail, or 390 in total. the manufacturer counted the 5v and 3.3 volt in too, which is less if not any important for modern components

the gigabyte would be better... it's decent, but there's probably better for the price

how's pricing over there compared to units like: pure power 10/11 500w, system power 9 500w, cx550, cx550m, tx550m, rm550x, supernova g2, masterwatt 550, formula gold 550, whisper m 550 and mwe gold 550?

Well the price of thesw units that you mentioned are pretty similar (~ 65$

). Except supernova g2 around 100$. So these psu's that you mentioned would run my system?
