Loop order doesn't matter. It's not an open loop, you close the lid on your res the loop is now sealed, its a custom loop. Your case will restrict some heat output, this is normal. D5 and bigger rads will lower temps up to a certain point, rads lose their effectiveness the cooler they are, if you want your coolant to be almost the same as ambient then buy some bulkhead fittings and plumb one of these into the loop.

Haha, I'm not shooting for ambient. Cool setup nonetheless.

You stated 15c delta yes? 15c is pretty decent, personally as long as my gpu doesn't hit 50c and my cpu doesn't go over 80c I'm happy. The 1080mm rad with all the fans on in the first image is mine, it will be going into the loop at some point so i can run all the fans at pretty much idle in my rig. Its easy to get caught up on the numbers, but as long as you're getting good temps on your parts, it doesn't sound like a jet engine and all your parts are running at their best possible clock speeds, you're golden. ?

I'm glad you mention that about the pump. This is my first loop and I naturally thought the faster the water moved the longer it takes to heat up lol.. Totally makes sense now that you say it like that.. I don't want it running at max anyway as I want my system silent but I'm still in testing/benching phase of my build so I left it on high.. I'll be sure to test it at lower RPMs.. Thanks a lot!

Think you could test your pump out at like 25-30% and see if your temps increase significantly?

I'm using 45% power on the pump and I've been playing right now for over an hour and it hasn't gone above 31C.

Well spent a good portion of today installing the new pump and another 360 rad in the front and temps are basically unchanged lol. If I would have known that I wouldn't have dropped $300 freedom bucks for nothing. I could try the back 120mm as an intake and all the other fans as exhaust. I've heard some good things about all exhaust loop setups.

Maybe it's the thermal paste/pads or waterblocks? I hope you didn't have to spend money for nothing..

I want to believe it's fine. I think the EK paste that comes with their blocks is pretty good. Nothing like Kryonaught but it's decent.

Somethings gotta be wrong.. Has to be airflow then.. Can't be that many options can there? My case is super open and I have zero temp issues..

Yeah it's gotta be airflow + the high ambient. Did a quick test with the thermal gun and the middle of the front panel is 28.8C. Kicking the fans up to 75% and pump at 100 (pump doesn't appear to be responding to PWM atm) and opening the side panel dropped the temps from 47.2C to 39.2C in maybe 3-4 minutes?

My delta in this setup is a little over 10C with the side off but its 18C with the side on. Hmm...

Did some more testing and here's some more data. Looks like there is a 3C delta when taking the top of the case off.

Case closed results:

Fans at 65%
water: 44.2C
gpu: 53C

Fans at 75%
water: 41C
gpu: 49C

Fans at 100%
water: 40.4C
gpu: 48C

Top of case off:

Fans at 65%
water: 41.3C
gpu: 49C

Fans at 75%
water: 40.3C
gpu: 49C

What are you using to test?

There's a g 1/4 thermal probe on the inlet of the gpu for liquid temp.

Afterburner for gpu temps

Just standing still in the Witcher 3 from my earlier results for the load. About 250w-260w gpu and 80-90w cpu

Your GPU temps don't look too hot? Maybe it's the liquid temp sensor? If you're not thermal throttling then I wouldn't even sweat it..
