Can I bypass the vpn then get faster connection

Because of my parents work and they need a hardware vpn to connect the server of their company

so they bought the hardware to the home

I know that we have 1Gbps subscription from Netvigator

but now im getting 160 - 150 mbps of download speed and 800 upload speed

i am using FTTH connection

so can i bypass the vpn cuz my parents say that it will make a difference

or 

maybe the vpn doesnt even have anything to do witha the speed

160mbps shit is relatively normal speed for 1 gbps wifi/ethernet

Not sure where you're getting that from but it's not.

160Mbps out of 1Gbps (really 950Mbps give or take) is not normal or acceptable

It's also not 160MBps either because that would be 1.28Gbps. Additionally OP mentions they are getting 800Mbps upload speed so we know it's Mbps and not MBps.

If the hardware VPN is connected as the main router then there isn't really a way to bypass it. Additionally, I would suggest that they really shouldn't have it setup that way to begin with and it should be connected off the main router for the house since if they just replaced the router with their hardware VPN router then all traffic is going through their corporate connection which is almost always a big no-no.

If your running Hardware VPN, Split the network, have a VPN side and a Non-VPN.

You can setup static routes between Router 1 and 2 so PC's on each side can still communicate, but Clients on Router 2 will have always on connection through the VPN.

 

Just realized Parents PC has same IP as Router 2 should be 10.1.2.2

The problem with internet speeds is once you cross into the WAN, your network may be able to handle 1 Gbps speeds, but that doesn't guarantee the networks you pass though to access whatever your trying to do (downloads, streaming, web searches, ect.) will be able to handle those speeds as well, and in the case of downloads the server may limit your connection speed with how fast you can download something. I'm interested in what your using to actually test your speeds, as results can vary depending on the methods used.

i used ofca from hk government and also used ookla speedtest

The fact your getting a really good upload and a much slower download is your probably just limited by their networks on how fast you can download stuff. I've never been able to get most speeds test to break 150mpbs.

i guess my isp has been lying to me then. asked them about me getting 150mbps down and 200mbps up on a gigabit plan on a tuesday afternoon(when no one is connected to the wifi at all) and they said it was normal

For WiFi it might be okay if you're on 2.4GHz, or even 5GHz in a slightly congested area. For ethernet connections though, it's definitely not.

yea problem just got worse im geting 30 mbps download and 300 upload

or
