Need Some Advice.

So recently i tried some minor editing of some 1440p 60fps fortnite gameplay for a friend and when i went to export it it took just under 2 hours for a 20 minute video, i never understood that it was this hard for your system to do these things. I was wondering what would be the cheapest way to upgrade my system to handle these loads better ( like 30-50 mins maximum ). 

Specs: 

Pentium G4560 (stock cooler) 

cheap asrock b250m-hdv 

8GB hyperx fury 2133 DDR4 (2x4)

GT 1030

240GB SSD

500GB 7200rpm HDD 

The software i was using is called Shotcut, its a free video editing thats good for starting off youtube. I was thinking of getting a used 6700 and a hyper 212 black edition and upgrading the rest of my build when i get the money.

While the i7 6700 would be a huge upgrade I would wait until you can upgrade the whole system.

i have £100 (about $130) and was needing something pretty soon, do you have anything cheaper that would boost performance for the mean time until i do a £900 refresh in January ???

That's a dual core CPU. Video encoding relies heavily on CPU and multicore performance.

How much would the i7 6700 + Hyper 212 Black edition cost? You would probably be able to buy a Ryzen 1700 + new motherboard for less. The Ryzen would be the better buy as well as you would be able to overclock the CPU and you would have more CPUs to upgrade with later on if you wanted to. Also 8 cores 16 threads which will help a lot with video editing.

Put that £100 you have already somewhere safe and just save up another £800 in time for January.

for cheap I'd look at the 6th and 7th gen i5s (within £50, otherwise forget it) Annoyingly even with 8th and 9th gen's release, older i7s still keep their value, making them a hard sell.

Yes this system was build on an under 300 budget, 

About £75 of 6700k's are not rare on ebay and a 212 is about 30 on amazon

i was thinking of waiting but even in games i get 30fps on gta5 on lowest settings, also i made a HUGE mistake nad bought a 1440p 144hz monitor...

Are you sure they are as low as 75 pounds? Perhaps what you saw was an auction with a bid of 75 pounds that was still being bid on?
I'm looking at ebay.co.uk right now and i7 6700ks are priced between 200-250 pounds.

I know it'll be difficult but put gaming and editing on the back burner until you can get a better PC that is more capable.

Yes but i have seen my friend win a 8700 for £160, yes it was stained with thermal paste but worked perfectly fine after some alcohol wipes. Its not uncommon for things like this to come up on other places like facebook market place and things like that.

Why don't you sell the monitor and put it towards upgrading the PC? Even a £900 is barely going to be capable of running that

yeah i said the same but when he messaged the seller he said he could fire it up for benchmarks and stuff and he did, as long as they show its working and stuff then it should be ok.

Yeah thats whats been happening for the last year or so and it gets boring when you notice the only game that runs decently is when your little brother plays roblox...

Gumtree is 'okay' but the Facebook market is pretty risky as you don't get buyer protection.

Unfortunately that's the problem with these budget builds, they are fine until you run something that requires better hardware.
