Will I get screen tear with no vsync at 60 FPS on this 144hz display?

It doesn't have freesync/ gsync.

"Why do you want a 144hz monitor if you plan on running at 60 FPS?"

I can run 144 FPS in pretty much any e-sport type game. But modern AAA games run at around 60.

So, will screen tearing be noticeable at 60 FPS with no vsync on this 144hz monitor? Or that has nothing to do with the monitor's refresh rate? Screen tearing is quite noticeable in a lot of games with vsync off on a 60hz display. I want vsync disabled because it causes input lag.

There will be tearing if you didn't use vysnc, free or g sync or any tech that suppose to deal with it.

But with 144hz the screen update more than twice as fast.. It won't ve noticeable. I have tried it and I can't barely notice the tearing unless you really looking for it by observing it but if you're in the game.. You won't notice it.

If Vsync isn't active ..or some other form of sync .. you will get tearing regardless of ur FPS or monitors refresh frequency.

How much u notice it is down to the individual.

I totally agree with SolarNova.  You can turn off vsync when you have a 144hz monitor you will still get tearing but since it refreshes the screen twice as fast as 60hz it will not be as noticable but will still be there.  Here is where freesync or gsync kicks in.

Asus Sabertooth x79 / 4930k @ 4500 @ 1.408v / Gigabyte WF 2080 RTX / Corsair VG 64GB @ 1866 & AX1600i & H115i Pro @ 2x Noctua NF-A14 / Carbide 330r Blackout

AOC 40" 4k Curved / LG 55" OLED C9 120hz / LaCie Porsche Design 2TB & 500GB / Samsung 950 Pro 500GB / 850 Pro 500GB / Crucial m4 500GB / Asus M.2 Card
