I just built my first pc after doing tons of research I decided on a set of parts that work together, fit, and give amazing speed ratings on paper, but now when I play Forza horizon 4 or the division 2, I get sudden fps drops, despite the settings being adjusted and running smoothly on max settings most of the time. The parts are listed here.

I have a 3 monitor setup but 2 of the monitors that I have are older and do not have hdmi plugs or display port, so I am using a second graphics card (GIGABYTE R7 240 2gb ddr3) that I got from a friend to run the other screens, I don’t game on them, but is there a chance that the second card is causing the problems on my main display?

You did tons of research and bought a 7th gen processor? Unless there's an error in your pcpartpicker link.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Wait, you just built this?

I beg you, return it.

Software problems when you have two different cards are common. I'd just get adapters to fit the RX 580.

It's also probably because of your low thread count CPU.

Obviously with that CPU. Its only a 4 Core/4 Thread CPU...

And if possible, pls return at least the Board and CPU, replace that with either a Ryzen 2600 or 2700 or something that's not EOL and can't be upgraded.

Otherwise the system is fine. But the CPU is absolute garbage for that price.

The two GPU Setup might not be the issue but the CPU...

It may, i would suggest to plug the 3rd screen with an adapter on the main gpu.

With my personal experience, if you are getting big fps drops randomly its because of the cpu. Vs constant low fps which would 90% of the time be gpu.

Sorta like everyone else I would recommend you get a new cpu and board. I assume you are on a budget so maybe get something like a 6700k, 7700k or 5820k? Or of course ryzen as they do have a pretty damn good price/peformance ratio.

But before you do buy/sell anything have task manager open with the performance tab up while you are gaming and right after you get a big fps drop look at your cpu and gpu performance. That should give you at least a basic Idea of what is going on.
