yeah dropped the GPU oc still the same so will revert the cpu to standard now and see what happens super pissed about this haha but hopefully i get it fixed

If it's an old HDD it can cause issues, if it's failing it can cause major performance issues if it was bought refurbished or was from an older system you had I'd look into replacing it, I don't use my mechanical drive for games anymore, it's a huge benefit to have them on an SSD and overall a much better experience plus with how cheap SSDs are now it's crazy.

yeah when on user bench mark it claims the HDD is performing fine but will have to see once everything is'nt  over clocked

this couldn't be to do with the fact that as i mentioned earlier my pc windows update is stuck on initialising

Actually it JUST HAPPENED with my current system and new monitor.

 

Used the cable that came with the it and lost a ton of performance, changed it out to one of my DP 1.2 cables and the performance went right back to normal.

I've had this issue personally, used a crap DP cable that came with my monitor was able to get it up to 165hz but FPS was spotty and computer was crashing, knocked it down to 144hz and same thing, 120hz same thing, 60hz same thing. Bought a new versa certified DP cable and have used it for months now and not a single issue.

Lost over 1000 points on 3D Mark, FPS dropped in all my games etc.

 

Changed the cable and it all went back to normal.

y any chance can installing nvidia drivers on the HDD instead of the SSD where windows is cause any problem just realise i have it installed on HDD instead of SSD

Could be, like I said early make sure you update Windows and your Bios to the newest available both Windows and Bios updates can fix issues like you're having. I know with Shadow of The Tomb Raider there was a lot of people experiencing choppy framerates and crashes before the first patch and that was fixed with a Bios update. Some people go years without updating their Bios and it can cause some major issues with your system if you don't. Every computer I build I do a Bios update from the Manufacturer website before anything else once I get it to post, and never use the disk they give you it's usually out of date.

imo tho surely its nothing to do with my OC's there's 1000s of people out there running 5ghz 9900k and 2080Ti OC and its not like i went with a budget 2080

I would say order a new cable, a good one, that would be a good start.

alrighty i just got this mobo last week i changed from 7700k to 9900k mobo to Aorus Z390 pro and from a 1080 g1 to a Asus strix 2080ti

can confirm the 9900k has no problems at 144hz on div2, but on ultra make sure u don't have resolution scaling on, other than that, make sure the drivers are clean, i run 100hz on high or 144hz on medium-high.

so iv'e put div 2 on SSD not mad a difference stil.

i will get a replacement DP cable and see what happens but with a 9900k And 2080ti to say i can't even get 45fps at times there is something terribly wrong at this point
