No, but many people will still do it to justify their asking price.

You can more easily justify your asking price with it because you can say something like "50% of the new price!!".

top 10 why i hate how society works. Its freaking every single goddman times, im trying to use the PRICE POLICY (not comparing price with others) because i respect the seller.

Sometimes people list the original price to make it so they can guilt people "oh wow, you're only offering X?? I paid way more than that back in year Y.."

and it's like.. okay, good for you..?

I feel like people should just be able to offer whatever they think the item is worth - but of course as a seller you want to get as much many out of it as possible.

I mean like who wouldn't? But still doesn't justify anything. I guess there is people that kind enough or rich enough to sell something cheaply, or maybe just give it away.

No it's like they want to throw off the numbers you have in your head.

Say you offered 50 euros, while they asked 100 euros and they justify that 100 euros by telling you they paid around 300 euros for it.

That may be just a bunch of numbers, but it's there to throw you off your own judgement and there to make you doubt your original 50 euro offer.

It's basically a bit of additional information to add context to their asking price.

Yeah with that in mind, you pay for like 60% less than how it was originally instead of how much it would cost In your perspective. But if you already know how it worth, I don't think you will care that much.

But there is a lot of people that don't know, but it's not like even if i care i can change the situation, maybe prevent some.
