Hey guys, i have a question about my pc built: 

 

Case: Corsair Crystal Series 460x

CPU: Ryzen 7 2700

MB: B450 Tomahawk

RAM: 2x8 gb tridenz gskill

m.2: samsung evo 250gb

GPU: kfa2 nvidia  rtx 2070 

ssd 500gb crucial mx 500 and 1tb hdd 

650W bequiet straight power 11 

 

could it work?

ps: im new to this whole pc building world

It will work.  A good site to build and check this is pcpartpicker.com, they do compatibility as well.

Always have an SSD, the computer boots faster and generally speeds up everything.

You can add an additional normal 7.2k RPM HDD for additional storage space if needed.

It's always nice to have an SSD but they are more expensive when you're talking price per GB compared to a HDD. If you plan on only playing 1 or 2 games a 500GB SSD is fine

Yes, I see you have both.  The things you want to load fast, like games you play all the time, are on SSD.  Movies, music, pics, and games not needing fast loads are on the HDD since it's much cheaper for more space.

 

I was using a 3TB HDD for storage until I built my Plex server and moved it there.  At some point, going all SSD may make sense too.

m.2 is mostly just a different interface. It's nice if you've got the budget for it since there's less cables you have to manage. Also, 250gb is enough for a windows install and maybe a few games or programs

WHich Samsung EVO is it?  

 

M.2 is a form factor, it can be an NVMe or SATA.  Your MX500 is SATA interface but is a 2.5" drive, correct?  SATA can be 2.5" or M.2 sizing.  NVMe is for content creators, really.  The speeds aren't seen in booting and gaming.

 

Either way, 250GB is plenty for Windows and main apps.  Put your game libraries on the MX500 and the HDD.

Would go for the Sata variant of the mx500. It has Dram cache which is a lot nicer than a dramless drive
