Best 120mm AIO for NZXT G12?

Hi guys, I need some advice!

I've got a EVGA GTX 1080 Classified, which runs overly warm (82°c while gaming, 92°c+ under synthetic load (Furmark or HeavenBenchmark) so I am going to be installing the NZXT G12 to try and lower the temperatures. My only issue is, I don't know what cooler to go for. I want one from a reputable brand (Corsair, NZXT etc.) and I need it to be 120mm so it will mount in the rear exhaust of my NZXT S340 Elite.

I simply do not know which one to go for...

I am thinking of the H80i V2 but apparently that does not fit? Not sure on that though.

I am also wanting to know if I will need to buy heatsinks for the VRM and VRAM, but I haven't got a clue how I am meant to pull that off. I know I can do the VRAM with some heatsinks and thermal pads of eBay but the VRMs have me stumped. Any help here too?

Looking forward to your replies and I am buying the NZXT G12, Noctua 92mm fan and the heatsinks and thermal pads for the VRMs tonight.

You need an asetek cooler with a round CPU block to git the G12.

SOme corsair ones have the round block, so do the NZXT ones.

You can put small heatsinks on the VRM just like you do on the vram.

Okay, thank you!

Is there any decent extra-thick 120mm AIOs you would recommend. Like you said above, the H80i V2 won't fit because it is square, but the H70 should, right? And that also is a 120mm and extra-thick. Only thing I am worried about is that it is quite old in regards to design and I don't know how long it will last. I know it still has a 5yr warranty though.

Also, is there anything specific I should look out for when buying thermal pads for the VRMs and VRAMs?

Compatibility - AIO Liquid Coolers NZXT
Kraken X72, X62, X52, X42, X61, X41, X31, X60, X40
Corsair
H105, H110, H90, H75 (CW-9060015-WW only), H55, H50 (CW-906006-WW only)

You should just get tiny heatsinks that already have adhesive on them, if you buy thermal pads separately they are usually not adhesive and won't work to stick heatsinks on.

Ah, thank you!

NZXT don't make a 120mm which is officially compatible, that's a shame.

Those Corsair ones though, which ones are 120mm and extra thick? I believe the H70 was but that doesn't seam to be supported. :(

Why is this becoming so difficult... I simply want the best extra-thick 120mm AIO which is compatible with the NZXT G12. I didn't realise this would be such a difficult task.

Hey, i also got the G12 and thinking of buying the "thermaltake 3.0 water cooling performer c". Seems like the best option at the cheapest price(about 50 € here). Another good option is the antec H20 920 but it's more expensive.

That Thermaltake one is not 120mm though...

I need to have it 120mm so I can put it in the exhaust fan slot of my case, and I am also wanting it to be extra thick to support the heat given by my GPU a little better.

The extra thickness makes almost no difference.

A normal 120 will already be more than enough cooling for any GPU.

The H75 is good.

It's the "almost" which gets me. Since my heatsink already is not enough, and that is with every fan running at 100%, I am after as much cooling as I possibly can get. And with the H75, that needs to be the older one, right? The newer one won't fit because it is not round, I think.

What about that H70 Core I've seen? That's extra thick and I believe it has the Asetek mounting. If I could get that, would that be a decent cooler?

 - EDIT -

I've just looked and the H70 Core is no longer available.

What's the difference between the H75 and the H55? I'm now feeling the H75. If it really won't make as much of a difference as you're telling me, I hopefully will still be able to keep the temperatures 60°c or under.

Only thing now is getting those heatsinks for the VRM and VRAM. Since I live in the UK, any chance could you have a look for me? I'm currently at work and amazon and ebay are blocked (LTT and TomsHardware are not blocked funny enough)
