Monitor for a 1080 build (with g-sync?) on a budget

Hi there, hope all is well!

So I'm currently planning a build with a 1080 and an i5 8500. I want to be running games at 1440p 144hz (I know I won't get 144fps on some newer titles but will be more than OK on e-sports titles).

I had a budget of £1000 (~$1300). This left around £200 for a monitor, looking into this it might be a bit optimistic...

I was wondering what sort of 1440p 144hz monitor I could realistically expect for below £300. I'm fine with buying second hand (if it's not a bad idea?), but would rather not. I've been looking at these so far:

I wasn't sure how important G-sync was as well. Obviously I would prefer it but on such a tight budget I wasn't sure how much of a difference I would notice or if a free sync would be close enough?

Thanks for any help, Ed.

get a freesync or gsync "compatible" to save some money

freesync works with nvidia while gsync doesnt work with amd (and intel in the future). so having gsync monitor might lock you out of amd and intel in the future

MSI GX660 + i7 920XM @ 2.8GHz + GTX 970M + Samsung SSD 830 256GB

There's literally nothing between Freesync and Gync. Yes maybe Gsync is better but it's so small it's not even noticeable. And for the extra Nvidia tax you pay for Gsync it's just not worth it at all.

I'd get that Acer model. Not sure about how reliable EG are. That's the best you're probably gonna get with a freesync model.

24 inch? Might as well go 1080p. Just not enough size to need the extra pixels.

I'd rather bigger one tbh, it's just the budget that's keeping me down.

That's awesome, is there much between freesync and g sync compatible?

Also any ideas of specific models?

Thanks, Ed!

just get a freesync monitor, most of them work with the 1080

tho the nvidia "verified" list is a bit bs...
