Should i buy the rx 570, or the second hand gtx 1060, or wait for the release of Navi.

I've just watched this video recently

Which makes me think that the rx 570 is as close as beating the gtx 1060 or even beat it already. The gtx 1060 used to have better performance than the 570, and also has a lower power consumption, but i still tolerate the power consumption of the rx 570, but not the rx 580.

I'm not going to spend more than IDR 3.300.000 so the choices are new rx 570 or second hand gtx 1060. And also should i wait for the upcoming Navi GPU?

The 570 doesn't beat the 1060 but it's not so far behind, coming in above the 1060 3GB.

If you're so concerned about efficiency, what CPU do you have?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

The RX 570 is a decent mid grade graphics card. I believe it actually outperforms the 3gb 1060 version in certain titles and wasn't far behind in others.

I would go for the RX 570 if its cheaper in your market.

Even with the electric bill in mind long term costs may not be a bad thing, if the GTX 1060 is much more expensive I say just save money now.

I refuse to buy nvidia products, especially after some of the stunts they pulled with the GT 1030 (using slower DDR4 RAM and selling it at the same price) and the new GTX 1650 that they 'generously' provided to testers pre-release but wouldn't supply video drivers to. Come to find out, it's because they didn't want to reveal that it doesn't even match the performance of a 3 year old RX 570.

Since you're ok with used parts, why not just buy a used RX580 rather than a new 570.

Both will be out of date when navi comes anyway.

Buying new 570 at that price is just too much.

Because the rx 580 used more than 300 W, and my house only support just 400 W more, and if any of the electronic get a sudden peak voltage, my house could go blackout. That's why i'm maxing out to rx 570

Well at least it's still efficient. If you truly need that low power draw, then are you also going for an 80+ gold PSU?

Try RX480 if you can get on.

Yeah, the RX 570 8GB only cost about IDR 2.500.00 and the cheapest new GTX 1060 6GB is around IDR 3.700.000, the used one is around IDR 3.100.000

I already have a Seasonic FX-750, so i won't be upgrading the PSU for a decade or more if possible

The RX 480 cost the same as the GTX 1660, i guess that's because after the cryptocurrency crash, people are more likely to buy the 500 series, so the seller just kept selling the RX 480 at that price

Unless its under $150 i don't think its worth it to get 570 new.

The used one is around $100.

Not talking about new, i mean used.

If you say the miners are selling the 500, the used 400 will be cheaper.

They sold it around IDR 2.000.000 which is IDR 500.000 cheaper than the new RX 570. And most of them said that they used it only for gaming, not mining.

Well if you wanna buy new, i suggest just wait for the navi.

It's only 3 months away.

I'm sure amd will have a better performing card at the same price.
