Go to the store and buy a modem + router. Xfinity is not known for giving the best equipment. On the other hand you could try calling them up, they have a back door in to that gateway. They can go in and change any settings. Which is another reason I refuse to rent their equipment. 

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
