Can i use a 3000MHz RAM with my i5 9400f?

I just ordered parts for an i5 9400f build ( GeForce GTX 1660 Ti , Vengeance Lpx Series 8GB (8GBx1) DDR4 3000MHz , Asus EX-B365M-V Motherboard (Intel Socket 1151/9th and 8th Generation Core Series CPU/Max 32GB DDR4 2666MHz Memory) )

i was wondering if there is anything wrong with using the 3000 MHz RAM i bought. or would it be necessary to return it? Buying additional parts is not really an option. also curious as to what would happen if i did use it?

B365 is locked to 2666mhz.

Note that in titles like the division 2 you might experience lower performance due to this. Though its not a whole lot of titles

By a quite a few the 2600 is considered better buy due to this aswell as its extra threads.

Though the 9400f will work just fine.
