Ryzen 3000 upgrade

Hey guy

So I currently have a Ryzen 5 1600 none X and a b450 asus TUF gaming plus motherboard (upgraded from my b350 msi gaming plus). Now my question is I want to upgrade my cpu to whatever the new Ryzen 5 3000 chip when they are release but I'm worried that my current motherboard may not be suited for the new chips if I want to overclock, is my current motherboard good enough for overclocking those new chips as I've heard after buy the TUF board that they don't have good VRMs and all that (no idea how to tell if a board has good VRMs and mosfets). VRMs and mosfets I have no idea how to tell what makes them good even after researching them so if anyone could shed some light on whether or not my current setup will be any good and if not what motherboard to get. Price isn't really an issue as long as it isn't crazy ridiculous pricing and nether is form factor though I do prefer Micro-atx.

Thanks in advance

stick to your current board until Zen 2 Ryzen is actually available. Maybe new boards will be even better, maybe Zen 2 drops power draw so much that crap boards today are good enough, we'll see.

The TUF may be a cheapo board, but if you're getting one of the lower end CPUs, the proposed 6 or 8 core budget options, then I doubt the vrms will get in the way.

As for really basic VRM identification:

more of these is usually better. Having only this 4+2 setup is the bare minimum.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

The only known advantage of new, upcoming AM4 Boards is that they come with PCIe4.0

But since you already have an AM4 Board, you can flash the BIOS. so just look after release of Zen2 on the BIOS Section of the Board and see if it supports it. And just drop in a new CPU.

What other changes the X570 Chipset brings is not known.

What other Changes the X570 Motherboards bring is not known.

We just have to wait and see.
