i7 3930K and DX79SI for C$300; Good deal or not?

So I've found a local deal for a used i7 3930K, Intel DX79SI, and some random CPU cooler (that I'll ditch for something better) for $300 CAD.

I'm thinking of using this combo for a spare general-purpose build. But I'm not sure if it's worth going with such an old platform with Ryzen 3000 just around the corner.

Do you guys think this is a good deal? Or should I pass on it?

@CUDAcores89 I know you're into used PC parts, what do you think about this?

Thanks!

Why would you get this when you can get equivalent performance with a Ryzen 1600 and a board for $200? Unless there are features from X79 that you need, this is an easy pass.

Edit: just realized that you said CAD. Still, a Ryzen 1600 combo should be under $300 CAD.

A 3930K will kill a Ryzen 5 1600 when overclocked.

Also the Ryzen 5 1600 is C$190 (and motherboards aren't C$10): https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/mV98TW/amd-ryzen-5-1600-32ghz-6-core-processor-yd1600bbaebox
