Hi, Ive recently been building a desktop that houses all of my old computer hard drives, which date from the '80s. They all have IDE or a Ribbon data connection, but I want to use an adapter to convert it into USB. I've already got molex power to all of the drives, but I cannot find adapters which only convert the data and only have 1 usb connection. I dont want to convert to sata and all I'm getting on google are these ide/pata/sata with usb power, but thats not what I want.

Here is a link to the rubbish search results

One last thing, do I have to get custom cables for this, and if so where and for what price?

(im in the uk so if there is international shipping thats ok too :) )

I would suggest searching on Amazon as you would get better results like the following which only contain the data portion and no power or include power through either a separate supply or through the unit itself via an optional cable.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/IOMAX-SATA-Adapter-Power-Drive/dp/B000R18ZNQ/

Although if you do get one that has an external power option and a 3 pin plug with a questionable shape (like the one in the first link), then bin it as it most certainly be properly fused or even meet current electrical safety standards.

I use one of these on the daily, absolutely 0 issues.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)
