Assassins creed 4 is an old game ik but ive noticed I camt play it on max settings over 40fps and I would like to know if anyone has any idea why. My specs are I7 6700, 8GB corsair vengeance LPX ddr4, Asus Strix GTX 970, segate 500gb HDD, WD blue 500gb HDD, 128gb Toshiba m.2 . MSI After Burner Shows both GPU and CPU between 50-60% usage when settings are maxed but when on a mix of max and high GPU usage is maxed like it should while CPU is 50%( this is  is ok for now GPU to be upgraded soon) while maintain a solid 60fps no dips. Please help I

This is your bottleneck. A gpu upgrade would help

I mean the game is not that old bro, it was released on 29th October 2013, and assassin's creed games are known to be unoptimized as fuck sooooooo

Install latest drivers, get latest version of the game, make sure nothing else is using gpu, try to oc it, make sure it's not throttling, and that's that

Try unparking your cpu cores, some people claim it helps with AC games.

Because the game is not very well optimized. Once you get into the crowded city, your fps is gonna be in the 40's. Try this... Go into the crowded city where your fps is in the 40's, pause the game and turn ALL your settings down to low/off. Restart the game and go to the same area and see what your fps is. Report it back to me.
