Need help picking a graphics card

So i already built a new PC a few months back, but i kept my GPU to save a little bit of money, now I'm looking to upgrade.

 

PC:

I7 9700k

16 gb corsair ddr4

Asus Strix z390

 

I have been looking at a 1070 or a 1070ti, can anybody recommend anything?

Buying a GTX 1070 or 1070Ti is pointless because you're actually paying more for old hardware, getting a GTX 1660Ti will offer you a performance between the GTX 1070 and 1070Ti, and my recommendation would be an RTX 2060 which would offer GTX 1080 performance for 350$

it only makes sense if you buy it used, or if you can actually find it for cheaper or similar in price to the current generation

Yeah a GTX 1660ti would be good upgrade, but if you're still on a tight budget you could go for an rx 580 8gb, which is around 5% faster than a gtx 1060
