Best Cpu to choose

hey guys im thinking of upgrading my pc, i mainly play the division 2 these days, and cpu load is 100% all the time, i only do gaming and i dont have a big plan on streaming

i only want to upgrade the cpu, mb and ram and i do gaming on 1080p

here is my current pc specs

Intel i5 4590

Gigabyte H97 gaming 3

16gb ddr3

Asus 980gtx 4gb

Seasonic S12II 520w psu

im confused which cpu to chose intel or amd

Blue team

Intel I5-9400F

Gigabyte H370 Aorus Gaming 3

8gb ram ddr4

Red Team

AMD Ryzen 5 2600

Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro WIFI

8gb ram ddr4

which team should i choose ?

prices are pretty much same here in the market

big question is , if i go for amd ,should i wait for AMD 3000 cpu series or not ?

let me know if there are better cpus for these builds

this one (could do a different mobo, but this one is really good)

  • better mobo
  • overclocking
  • SMT
  • better upgrade path

I agree I would get a different motherboard theirs another guy posting who is having issues with his Aorus MOBO also Gigabyte has not had the best reputation for quality as of late and have been having some issues with allot of there products

Whats wrong with that PSU its 80 Plus Bronze and  Made by an OEM of powersupplys for the top brands Like Corsair give it its usually there low end PSU's but If it works whats the difference.  now if  @Pramain F is getting a new GTX 1080/ti,2080/ti then yes I would agree.

the design is over 10 years old, uses group regulation and a brand/oem is never a good way to judge

Thats True but if it works and has been reliable whats why spend the extra money if you dont have to.

because group regulation is known to get easily out of spec with a system like this and that could actually damage his components?

i mean, better safe than sorry

watch out on Asus. there are so many units that aren't even fully keepable of the better ryzen chips, like a lot of the prime and tuf series (except for the prime-a)

I recently made a motherboard tier list with a couple others, where we take power delivery and known problems in mind, maybe that's something to check out

as mentioned above, the amd is better in many ways, which makes the 8400 and 9400f a much worse value

I personally wouldn't get intel if you're going for below a 8600k/9600k or if ryzen is that much more expensive in your region

Using the CPU's at stock, the 9400F will be better in most games, but you can see if Division 2 is one of the games in these samples. If you overclock, I would get the Ryzen 2600:

youll need a Z390 board to ensure BIOS compatibility. as such the H370 likely wont work as it uses an old BIOS before the release of the 9400f.

you could also just wait for Zen 2  if you really want to

2600 on a good oc=2600x

it should be enough, and the bottleneck is minimal

Ryzen 2600 is what you want unless the 2600x is within 15-20$.

bottleneck is not something you should be concerned about.

i would recommend waiting for Ryzen 3000 releasing in a month or 2.

It doesn't bottleneck my RX 580 8GB at all (not even close.) It's a fairly comparable card in benchmarks at least.

My combo plays 1080p (60mhz) on new titles at 60fps+ without breaking a sweat.

As many will point out, if you go Ryzen be sure to use dual channel RAM (2 sticks) and faster is better (between 2933 and 3200 is that nice place to be.) Any higher than 3200mhz will start to raise the latency and timings, so that's where most would cap for gaming.
