2600 is really nice, as it comes with a cooler

1600x is a option if you already have one or want to get one

1700x is if you do something else, for just gaming i would take a r5 over it

is 1700 non-x available?

comes with great rgb spire cooler, easily clock to 3.7~3.8ghz

all doesnt really matter in gaming, get 1700 when you really "need" the 2 extra cores, 2c4t .

The R5 2600 is a no brainer. Get that one. The cooler is sufficient for a mild overclock even which closes the gap with the 2600X. The 1700X is nice if you have a workload that can benefit from the extra cores, but just for gaming, it's not the best choice.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

i would go for a r5 2600 and then use a better cooler on that.
the stock cooler might be sufficient, but it's not really good.

as far as i know, it only comes with the stealth cooler, which doesn't even have a copper core.

but you can get a decent cooler for about 40€ so i guess it shouldn't be so different in pounds

precisely its a copper chamber on wraith spire/rgb non-stealth (or just heatpipe for easier understanding)
