crossfire issues

Need some help. I was told that you can crossfire a r9 270 with a radeon hd 7870 and it seems to be working but when I go to play battlefield 3 or 4 the performace is terrible. If you can help that would be great. I dont know if I need to post my pc specs but just incase here they are

Pc specs

Amd fx 8320 o.c to 4.3ghz

Asrock 990 fx extreme 9

Corsair tx 850

Msi r9 270

Asus 7870

Well its Battlefield... Dont expect performance to be the best. 

My Build Log on PCPartPicker FX-6300, ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3, MSI 7870 GHz Edition, Corsair Vengeance LP 1x8GB, 1TB WD Blue, Fractal Core 1000 USB 3.0, Corsair CX600, and my most recent addition that I've had forever and isnt new is a 80GB WD800 for Linux, Lenovo ThinkPad X131e, ASUS Transformer TF300T, Galaxy Note 3 Sister dropped it in a puddle I now have to use a Samsung Brightside, Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250ohm version, Blue Yeti  #TheRealKEH-JEFF | "Sometimes, if were lucky, in Australia, a family has 2 kangaroos to pick up the kids with" - marto | Your entry here | Remember kids; just because Linus has a video on it, doesn't mean that its the best choice | ts3.wferr.com the best TeamSpeak | Abide by the CoC | Looking for build help? Did you enable Crossfire in the Catalyst Control Panel?

CPU bottleneck

Please tell me you are joking? 

PC: Corsair C70 Arctic, FX 9370, Corsair H80i, Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3, Corsair Vengence 16gb, Palit JetStream GTX 970, OCZ Vertex 4 128gb and Western Digital Blue 1Tb + 500gb, Antec Gamer 520w

Peripherals: Logitech G19 and SteelSeries Sensei RAW

Toshiba L50-A: i7 4700mq, 8gb, 1TB HDD, GT 740M 2gb

As per OP,...Would making the 270 primary and 7870 secondary be different that 7870 primary and 270 secondary?

Or do you think the issue would remain.?

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
