Ryzen and RAM speeds on a budget build

Greenish

So here is the deal. I want to build another PC for a budget. I am trying to get it as cheap as possible while running 4/6 cores and 16gb of ram. I already have a GTX 960 lying around which is what I am putting in it. All of the times I have run on ryzen I have been running on an unlimited (within reason) budget meaning that I could just chuck in whatever ram speed I needed (usually 3200-3600). For this PC I am trying to get it all from one retailer to avoid delayed delivery ect. So here is the deal, on the website I am trying to build it on (https://www.umart.com.au) they dont have alot of options for RAM speed. However there are some really good deals for slower ram speeds, right now I am going with 2666mhz ram for $65aud ($45usd) per 8gb stick. I have done some research and I am not too sure whether I should pay $60/70 more for faster RAM??? Please let me know, thanks!!!

Ryzen CPU likes 2 things, dual-channel & fast RAM. AFAIK a B450M board should support overclocking to 3200Mhz for RAM, so you can overclock either of those.

G.Skill (2x4GB) 3000Mhz for AUD$135

or

Kingston HyperX Fury 2666MHz 2x4GB for AUD$100

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600  Heatsink: ID-Cooling Frostflow X GPU: Zotac GTX 1060 Mini 6GB RAM: KLEVV Bolt 3600Mhz (2x8GB) Mobo: ASUS B550-F ROG Strix (Wifi)  Case: Fractal Design Meshify C PSU: Deepcool DQ-M-V2L

I am looking for 16GB of RAM. For $130 I am getting 16GB of RAM at a slower speed. But these 2 kits are 2x more for half the amount of ram. I get that faster ram is better but if I am getting it at $60 for 8GB of RAM. Is it worth paying 2x the amount???

idk tbh

Thanks for that, another reason I want to go with one retailer is because I live fairly close to one of their stores meaning I can pick it up if I need to

idk tbh

ram speed wont affect you too much, since you will be heavily GPU demanding.

but if you will upgrade gpu sooner or later, its better to get faster rams(eg g skill aegis)

I will definitley upgrade my main PC first meaning that I will probably be able to use the 3600mhz RAM from my current build if I end up upgrading.

idk tbh
