Best choices for AM4 motherboard

Good afternoon everyone.

I'm building a PC for a friend and now i have to choose a motherboard, ATM he's going for a 2600X and he probably will update for Ryzen 2 (7nm 3000), but i'm trying to choose which motherboards, could you guys help me?

I know about VRM and this kind of stuff, but the price of all of them are almost close soo... there's my doubts.

The models i'm in doubt with are these:

ASUS:

ASUS PRIME X470-PRO

MSI:

MSI X470 GAMING PLUS

MSI X470 GAMING PRO

MSI X470 GAMING M7 a litte bit more expensive

AORUS

GIGABYTE AORUS X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING

I was looking for the Gaming 7 wifi, but it's out of stock everywhere here in my state(São Paulo, Brazil)

Asrock:

ASROCK X470 MASTER SLI

Taichi is way more expensive and it's out of the question

BIOSTAR

X370GT7 or the X470GT8

PS: He'll probably do some overcloking with my help and wanted this board for at least a couple of year and if possible to use it with a "possible" Ryzen 7 12C/24T.

So in this case which one would be better?

Explain how the x470 Gaming K4 is worse off than the B450 Gaming K4? My VRMS never touch 80*C with my 2700x @ 4.2GHz 1.4375V where my X470 Prime did frequently

MSI B450 Gaming Plus AC. Best price to performance right now, despite MSI's, ahem, difficult BIOS. I have the X470 Gaming Plus, which is also a very good board, and shares a lot with many of the better B450 and x470 boards that MSI makes and has handled a 2600 at 4.1 with ease, and the B450 Gaming plus is arguably a better board than this one.

Also, I'm in no way an MSI fanboy, this is the first MSI board that I've bought in over 10 years because that one was junk. However the value on these boards is just much better right now than many other brands, despite their BIOS which I frankly HATE for advanced overclocking with precision boost. Manual overclocking is fine, just don't use their command center to do it. I have found that their standard precision boost is not as aggressive as others.

Thank you very much but like i said, Taichi are too much for him and the ASUS is out of stock the same as the AORUS GAMING 7 and the MSI M7 AC is also above his budget.

pretty good

The 470 gaming plus, x470 gaming pro and b450 gaming pro carbon all use identical VRMs. The X470 gaming pro carbon is minimally better IMHO having one extra channel of identical design to the others. The X470 Gaming M7 however is by far the best VRM that MSI has, and IMHO, second only the 470 Gaming Taichi from ASrock. The B450 Gaming Pro is actually a better VRM than anything but the X470 Taichi, the Asus Crosshair Formula and the x470 gaming m7. It actually uses the same VRM components as the Strix X470 board, but I like the physical layout slightly better, though in function, they're likely interchangable and the Asus definitely has the better BIOS.

Thanks for the information. I'll try to look for the M7 AC but i doubt i'll find it inside his budget. Because only remains the MB to buy.

Not with VRM temps that have never seen 70C and don't hit 60C during a Cinebench R20 run.

That's absolutely not true in every case. The MSI B450 Gaming Plus has one of the best VRM on the market IMHO, better than MANY of the midrange or lowend X470 boards, and it typically runs $120 here in the US.

Not really unheard of either... that's like testing how good CPU coolers are on a pentium lol, of course you will have excellent temps

Incorrect, because like i just said, some models have the same components in the VRM in both B450 and X470.

"Once there was an explosion, a bang that gave birth to time and space. Once there was an explosion, a bang that set a planet spinning in that space. Once there was an explosion, a bang that gave rise to life as we know it... And then came the next explosion. An explosion that will be our last"

No problem. By the way, try and keep the mass @mentions to a minimum, since it gets annoying when scrolling through long notification screens.
