Why get an 8700K with a 1050Ti?

Assuming this is for gaming, the 8700k itself is already a pretty high end part and the 1050Ti is much more towards the low end of GPUs.

These parts amount to ~$1100 on PCPartpicker, so here's a build which should push out more gaming performance

You can replace the Ryzen 5 2600 and B450 motherboard with a i5-9400F and B360 motherboard, which should give more FPS in games but is a little more expensive.(You'd also ideally want an aftermarket cooler with Intel CPUs)

Can I keep the thermaltake case, cause the reviews on the coolermaster are not that good?

Other than that, i like this build.

Arctic freezer 34 is a good one from what I hear. I have one myself.

The Noctua is pretty overkill for a ryzen 5 2600, it's stock fan would do absolutely fine(this is applicable for basically all Ryzen CPUs). If you want an aftermarket cooler something like an arctic freezer 33 esports one should be fine

It should work fine. The MB511 has pretty good reviews though(it should provide better airflow due to a meshed front panel). Just remember to get RAM that's 3000MHz or above for Ryzen.

that GPU is pretty much only good for a fancy PowerPoint presentation...

the 1050ti is still pretty solid for 1080p gaming, just that he could have gotten a much better GPU with that budget

Intel, very good choice

Right now only intel's i5-9400F is reasonably priced imo. The 2700X is already almost $100 less than the 8700k and is $100 less than 9700k.

Im going with the Intel option, so does the MHz change or is it still ok to get 3000MHz?
