Rust beats DayZ in Sales on Steam

I just saw that Rust is now the #1 top selling game on steam, bringing DayZ to 2nd place. Does this surprise anyone? 

 

I have Rust and really enjoy it, but I'm not sure how good DayZ is. Two Early Access games are top sellers? Fairly interesting.

I have the DayZ standalone and tbh its really f*cking annoying to play. Hopefully patches and stuff will come and fix it soon.

Dayz right now is sort of stale and the same thing every time. Of course this is because it is in early alpha still and the game will get much better later on like minecraft did. I personally have both games and they are both very good. If you have played the mod and liked it then you will like the standalone.

I think they're both great games and deserve to be at the top, DayZ was the best selling for about a month though.  The patch that was released earlier should have more people buying it, DayZ still sells about 20k copies a day.

I like Dayz but last time I played the rubberbanding, lagg and all that stuff got me killed often because I thought one was dead but wasn't and the other guy was attacking me. I heard about rust like 2 days after I purchased Dayz but I don't want to buy both.

 

Imo by the description, Rust seems more interesting right now because you can craft stuff while Dayz, you can't yet. Only find stuff, survive and kill people.

considering Rust  at the moment is in much better condition of a game its about time.
i saw videos and live streams for dayz standalone. and its just awful and i dont know why people wouild waste their time with that

I just enjoy watching FRANKIEonPCin1080p play them instead.

 

Ditto, it's a good laugh watching Frankie play, he is almost always in control of the situation and has good commentary.

I would buy Rust if I can get at least a couple of reliable teammates.

dont worry too much. most of the players are dicks tbh who kill you on sight. unless you have people to play with/ dont mind being killed on sight and/or keep having your base destroyed dont buy it. at least dont buy it yet id say.

Yea pretty much. Im still gona give the game a chance on a more empty server that I used to play on but i dunno. its either an empty server thats boring or a more populated one where everyone is a dick. kinda a shame since the game is really good espeically for an early access game but the players pretty much destroy it for me.

DayZ is fun with friends. Unless they decide to rob you. And use you as bait, fun times though.
