Hello it’s my first post here and also my first build.

My current pc is i7-4770, GTX 1060 and rendering work / gaming is falling behind, looking to replace it with something better with possibility to upgrade after a couple of years. Currently I have one 1080p monitor but planning to get another at some point soon after the new build, and I will reuse what I have for now.

Extra notes:

  • I thought AM5 and these parts should make a good system and hopefully I can swap CPU and GPU for an upgrade in a couple of years.
  • RGB is not essential but it’s easier to find these parts and more deals on them locally than non-rgb variants.

Appreciate your feedback and suggestions.

Afaik, nvidia is a lot better at 3D work, though you do say it is light.

How much is a 4070, 4070 Super or 7900 GRE? If you're looking for a white build, AMD have spectral hellhound (powercolor) and pure (sapphire) versions.

The 7700 non-X comes with a cooler that is good enough you can actually use it, if you want to save buying one.

The 6800 XT can't do AV1 encoding, if that bothers you for the video editing.

why do you need this overpriced white MB if your case and CPU cooler are black?

Motherboard: MSI PRO B650-S WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard  ($142.27 @ Amazon)

Thanks. Good point about AV1, I guess 7800 xt would be better.

Nvidia prices are more marked up here, besides being generally more expensive, around $630 for 4070, $680 4070S, around $840 4070 ti s and those are considered deals. The 7900 GRE I will keep an eye for, as I might go for it if I can find a deal and skip the cooler. Buying it from the US will be around $590.

Thank you for the link. For motherboard choice it's because amazon doesn't ship all the models when I input my address or the shipping costs are high, and this is available locally. But few options are available here so it was between MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi (199$) and this one (202$), I was told Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite AX Ice is a better MB and the i/o is good. I will try to find the MSI PRO B650-S locally, because from amazon it will cost 174$ and in that case might as well stick with the other boards for the io. What about MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi ? Is Gigabyte better or am I choosing the wrong board since both equal in price?

Thanks, MSI global store doesn't ship here and I couldn't find it in local store they only have 2 models of b650 the rest are sold out. I'll go look in stores this weekend and see what I can find.

For GPU I will try to hunt for 7900 GRE or used 4070S around $500-550. I saw they're possible to get for that from pervious listings. If 4070S and 7900 GRE are the same price, go for 4070S right ? I believe the price is the main issue otherwise it is the superior card because of programs optimization.
