Teamviewer would be the easiest way to look at them.

You want to access your files remotly? You can use ftp for that. You need to set up forwarding on your router

ok so you're using a protocol called SMB or SAMBA. There are multiple protocols used for conneting to a server but for a simple remote access I suggest FTP. First step then is to enable it on FreeNAS. Just follow this guide: https://thesolving.com/server-room/how-to-configure-a-ftp-server-on-freenas/#

so now you have to set up IP forwarding so you can redirect your external IP to your FreeNAS machine. Search for it on your router page and send a screenshot.

go to firewall then Virtual server and click add. Type the freenas machine ip under private network settings an set the port to 21. On public network settings type 2121 or another port of your preference

FTP isn't generally an acceptably secure protocol for using to access your files. It will also be restricted by the firewalls on the networks you're connecting from. You should look into something like the NextCloud/OwnCloud Plugin for FreeNAS.
