I have a HDD from my laboratory's computer, and need to take the data from it. It was running on a core 2 duo and I tried to get it running on my computer, whose CPU is a phenom x ii, and it won't get past a window of Windows trying to repair stuff in compatibility mode. I then tried to plug both HDD's in, but it will try to boot from the Core 2 duo HDD, which doesn't work in my computer.

Is there any way for me to acess the data from the core 2 duo in this situation?

is sata hotplug available on your motherboard? If not, go to the bios and manually select your boot drive instead of the core 2 duo hard drive.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B
