If you're comfortable manual overclocking, the 2600 and 2600X are absolutely identical, save the few bucks. Rest looks good enough if you like it. I don't love that powersupply, especially for that cost. It's on-par with others in the same price-range, but not in any way astonishing. Are there others which are cheaper which are similar?

good choice going with the 2600x!! but why such an expensive graphics card? what will you be using it for? And have a look at the pricing for an EVGA 650W power supply, personally like them better.

The 2600 and 2600x were so similar in price that I just went with the 2600x to save money on buying a new CPU cooler. There were better ones, but I wanted modular or semi-modular.

thats the one that dosnt come with a cooler tho?

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Completely fair!

I'll second the Tomahawk recommendation though, that's a substantial price difference and I doubt you'll notice any difference aside from visually.

2600x comes with wraith spire.

2600 comes with wraith stealth.

Both are sufficient for out of the box speeds. The spire will have definitely better thermals at 4ghz all core. Neither can touch a hyper 212 or the arctic cooler.

Yea but the carbon one comes with a WiFi antenna and 5.0 Bluetooth. Would you recommend the tomahawk still? I was thinking about that one too.

Not if you actually need the wifi or bluetooth. External cards are annoying and can take away from the aesthetic. And bluetooth external sticks and cards are never very nice looking.

sounds like a great build! personally id get an nzxt h500/h700 as i think its a lot cleaner look and an asus tuf gaming x-470 motherboard just because of overclocking for good frames on gaming, but that will be fine!!

I have 4 Bluetooth earphones/headphones, and sometimes use my phone as internet when my home internet is acting slow. Im using a cheap WiFi and Bluetooth USB adapter right now.

Spend a bit more on the psu. A Bitfenix Formula 550W Gold would be a better option. You get an actual warranty with it (5 years) instead of a lousy two years.

Thanks haha. I wanted something flashy and obnoxious this time around. Maybe on my next build I'll try something clean.

So if I don't get rgb and go cheap with everything, I can get a 2070? Is it worth it? That is tempting.

Not for 1080p, if you FPS at 1440p or want to get into 4K gaming other than sim games, it would be.

The MSI boards actually overclock really well. I'm on an MSI x470 Gaming Pro which shares VRM design with both the Tomahawk and B450 gaming pro(not the other gaming board, the gaming plus?) and I'm at 4.1ghz all core on my 2600 non-x 24/7 stable with a 240mm AIO.

Thanks, but someone pointed out that a 2070 would be overkill at 1080p. Also, im going for an rgb vibe this time around.
