Is this rx470 worth it?

Aferim007

So, basically i found this rx 470 for $60 on okazii.ro (the romanian version of Ebay) and this guy sais that the card works perfectly until you put on a game after which after 1-2 minutes of gameplay it blue-screens

Do you think i can buy this card an fix it? Because it's definitely worth the money

its either the card is broken or it was a mining card with modded bios..if its a mining card you can fix it by flashing the bios.

but not for 60..i would risk it if it was 40 or lower..but its up to u

I'd find out what it was used for - as above. If it was a gaming card and just suddenly broke, I wouldn't touch it. It's likely it straight up died.

If it was for mining, a reflash could save it but there's always risks with that.

Overall, you might be able to save it but it's just not worth it.

It's an XFX card

I don't think they make mining cards

No but that's what it may have been used for, with a modded BIOS

At the end of the day, it depends what $60 is to you. If it's pocket change, why not give it a shot? If it's a real hit to your coffers, not a good idea really.
