Problem fitting GPU in Motherboard

Hi, I have a GTX 960 graphics card and a H370-A ASUS Motherboard, and am building in a NXZT H500 case. I've already used the pre-installed standoffs and screwed them in. I've also taken out a few of the case grills.

However, it seems my gpu is too large(it keeps hitting my mobo when I try to install it).

Is the a problem with how I installed the motherboard, or is it my motherboard vs gpu size that is the problem?

My PCPartPicker list:

For reference: This guy was able to install his GTX 1070 on a very similar mobo, H370-PLUS , with little problem.

My installation was pretty much the same, and I mounted my mobo on the same position standoffs.

What do you mean it keeps hitting the motherboard?

Do you mean the metal fingers that stick towards the motherboard? Those go between the motherboard and the case.

usually it's the I/O bracket of the card not slipping in properly. Wiggle more.

Are you sure you've taken out the right grills? Remember to take out the one next to the slot and the required amount BELOW that.

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

It’s like the grill is too narrow, I want to move it to the left, but it gets stopped.

i watched the video, and took out 3 grills, but it didn’t work.

Graphics cards I/O plate fins not sliding between the computer back I/O plate and the edge of the motherboard?

If so then it is the fins at the bottom of the Graphics I/O plate that are causing it not to set not the motherboard or case.

Probably due to being in a bent state.

Two fixes:

1. Bend the fin tabs back into alignment.

2. Cut the metal tabs off the end of the graphics card I/O plate -though if not confident with cutting metal seek someone who is qualified to do so.

-I can tell you I had it before myself -I just get metal cutters and cut the fin tabs off level with the rest of the card then the card was able to fit in.

Make sure to still the screw in or the card will be highly unstable.

Note: Some duct tape or electrical tape should be applied to the cut afterward may help with the sharpness -don't advise sanding that could be a worse can of worms if this route is chosen.

Update: So just to be sure, I should take off the left part of the fine with these pliers? Sorry it’s been a week, but I thought I didn’t have any pliers until I found them a day or two ago.

Update:

So the proble all along was the my GP had to be in 1 slot down in the io shield, and it could fit in. D'oh! I'm typing this from my newly built pc, the first one I've built from almost entirely custom parts, instead of rebuilt.?
