Hello!

I have infor my first ever pc build searched around for as much information as possible, so everything will work out fine. This is the build I have assembled:

Case: Fractal Design Meshify C TG

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15

GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2080 Windforce

CPU: I7-9700K

PSU: Corsair RM750x

Motherboard: MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC

Memory: G Skill Trident Z 8GB x 2

Storage 1: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB (M.2)

Storage 2: Seagate Barracuda 4TB (3,5)

Case Fans: Noctua NF-12x25 PWM x 6

PcPartPicker: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VVKpcY

What are your thought on this? I won't spend more than this, so if anything needs to be bettered something else has to be worsened.

Thanks for the Help!

I wouldn't go with 6 120mm fans. I'd go with 2 140mm fans in the front as intakes and then a 120 in the back and a 120 in the top as exhaust. That should provide sufficient airflow and you don't have to remove part of the shroud revealing you 'excess-cable-deposit'.

Also if you want opinions on the parts it helps if you add what you want to do with the build to your post.

I reckon you overdid it a bit on the case fans. I would suggest going with 2 fans in the front and 1 in the back (yes, I know that may result in positive pressure but it's really not that big of a deal). Also, while Noctua fans are amazing and I commend you for choosing them, you will ruin the aesthetics of your build with them.

If you're absolutely certain about getting Noctuas, I would recommend getting something out of their Chromax line. You can get a cover plate for your air cooler and black fans (you, unfortunately, can't get the cooler with Chromax fans in the box so you will be stuck with two extra 140s in brown). You will have to settle for NF-F12s instead of NF-A12x25s but rest assured, that they also perform very well (I have them in my build and they're basically inaudible).

Other than that, your build is looking pretty fine. If you want to save some money, you can swap out the NVMe drive for SATA one since you won't really notice much of a performance decrease in day-to-day use.

WHIPLASH

CPU: Intel Core i7 6700k @4.7GHz

RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4 2x8GB @3000MHz

MOBO: Asus ROG Maximus VIII Ranger

GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2

PSU: EVGA Supernova 650GS

CASE: Fractal Design Define S

I will mostly game on this, but I also want to experiment in editing and streaming.

I don't really care about the aesthetic, so the noctua fans who prioritize performance over aesthetics was a no brainer. So I think I'm settling on the NF-12x25s.

I don't really understand why you wouldn't want two exhaust fans at the top, since I'm totally okay with paying for it. I value cooling quite a lot. Also, I'm sorry for not mentioning my intends for the build :/ Thank you all for the incredibly fast and great feedback :)

The case doesn't have space for 5 140mm fans, and I'm kinda set on my GPU and CPU. As I explained in the former post, I don't really value aesthtics, I kinda just want a good computer, and that's why I picked those case fans and that cp cooler. But I am thankful for your advice :)

be quiet is about on level with noctua, but black

i won't stop you on the cpu and gpu, tho you probably look into my suggestions anyway. I'm more concerned about your mobo choice, as it's a fat 4 phase against a full 12, that's certainly worth it

and even if you write about 110 gigs per day to a 660p, it will last for 5 years

It has to do with air pressure inside the case. If you exhaust more air than you pull in, air will be sucked into your case through seems and other openings where there are no dust filter (the meshify c has a roster on the back that comes to mind). This means more dust inside your system which would mean worse cooling. Also at some point adding more fans won't actually drop your temperatures anymore. Luke did a video a couple years back with different fan configurations.

I looked into the differneces between the two motherboards, and the asrock one looks to be better. But I don't really understand what you mean with the 4 and 12 phase.

all i want to say with it is that it has a better power delivery

because the asrock has 12 separate phases compared to the 2 per "phase" 4 phase (so it does have 8 power chokes, but run them differently, which makes it a little worse, the asrock is better

tho if you like more looks, i suggest to look into the z390 aorus pro and elite

or just the mobo tier list if you're interested

Super! Thanks for clarity. Do you reckon the Asrock is good for overclocking? I saw some reviews on it sayin that it didn't work that well with the i9, so I got kinda worried that it wouldn't handle higher voltage going into the CPU.

afaik it's strong enough for even a 9900k on oc, but you could step up to the aorus pro or elite, on those i know for sure you'll never have a problem with it

Decided on the Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Pro Wifi. Thank you for the help! :)
