Here's a build for if you don't absolutely need 16GB of ram, and if you can compromise on that ram amount it'll do wonders for performance:

Your PSU choice is solid, and in sure you've mentally prepared yourself for working in that case. The cheap SSD is functional and a baseline decent starting point, and of course the CPU is good value.

However, single channel 2133 has awful bandwidth, and you're not only using Ryzen but an APU so everything will suffer. Downsizing to 8GB to get dual channel and high frequency is a good strategy. As for motherboard, that's the cheapest one with a VRM heat sink so that's money well spent.

this also goes under cpu's  (the topic)

Gtx 1050 plus pentium

or ryzen 3 2200g

I assume you plan on upgrading later, so Ryzen. But oof, that ram speed? Spend the extra scratch on dual channel 2666, that's a good investment. I'll be back with an optimal list real quick.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

2 stick and ryzen cause if you're limited on money and need more CPU power you can also change to Zen2

You shouldn't go with single channel RAM if you're going with Ryzen. It's considerably slower.

Yeah 2 stick. You can get a 32gb with 4 slots and with 2 stick of ram you can get more performance especially on ryzen, also ram speed matters too. I think you already know

* cpu You get 2 cores, 4 threads but it's cheap CPU with some resale value ... you buy it with 77$ and you will probably sell it easily for 50$ when you want to upgrade to a more powerful cpu like 1600x, 2600 etc. The money you save by not going with 2200g you can put on the dedicated video card which is much better than integrated graphics.

* motherboard uses B350 chipset so you may have to update bios to get 200ge working with it - you could ask the store to do the bios update before shipping it to you. You may be able to update the bios through usb stick without having to go in bios, but i'm not sure about that.

There's B450 boards  at same price but this one has :

** heatsinks on the vrm

** 2 usb 3.1 gen 2 (10gbps) on the back io shield

** 6 sata ports (cheaper boards usually have only 4 sata ports)

** 4 memory slots - so you can have up to 4x8 sticks

** PCI slot so you could have some cheap wireless pci card for example or some higher end sound card if you're a fan of that

So basically it's great value for money with this motherboard.

* ssd you originally had a 60gb weird brand ssd - this one's 2-3$ more expensive but you get 120 GB from a known brand - for a boot SSD you won't notice that it's only SATA, it will be fast

* ram - i put a single stick so you could add a second stick later ... if you can find 2 x 4 at 2666 or more at same price, go for it , with this mb that has 4 slots you can add another pair later. Could try to spend a few more dollars for 3000 Mhz or 3200 Mhz though the 200ge will run any stick at max 2666 Mhz - but higher frequency will be useful if you'll upgrade to better cpu

* video card - rx470 4 GB is just a bit slower than rx570 but still very fast, great for 1080p high/ultra - I think better performance than gtx1050 cards. 2 GB of memory is just not enough anymore in 2019, so paying $169 for a 2 GB gtx1050 is just silly.

* psu: picked that because it was cheap - the cpu uses 39-40w, mb and ssd around 10w, the rx 470 uses up to 120 watts so you're looking at maximum 200w - the 430w psu would be perfectly fine (i think it's CX430M so it's semi modular?)
