Hi guys, need some help choosing between Corsair cx450m (grey) and Seasonic s12ii 520w (1 6pin and 1 6+2pin pcie connector)

Anyone knows how many PCIE cables the cx450m has?  (Probably will skip the cx450m is there is only 1 PCIE connector)

Given similar cost, which PSU do you think have better build quality/is more worth it?

Cheers!

EDIT: Maybe also considering the masterwatt 550

Don't buy the S12II. It's a very outdated group regulated unit.

The CX450M has 2 PCIe connectors (1 cable, 2 connectors). The CX450 (2017) (non modular) has only a single PCIe connector.

The CX450m is better than the Seasonic S12ii.

What are you powering? CPU? GPU?

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

Everything makes sense now. I was so confused when i saw different websites suggesting different number of PCIE connector for the CX450M.

May i know why you say the CX450M is better?

I am currently running I5 8500 and RX570. I am planning to upgrade to a GTX 1070 soon.

Thank you for your reply. May i know what will the 'outdated regulated unit' affect?

Someone who can explain it better than me:

It has to do with how the PSU regulates the voltages on the separate rails. also at some point some new CPU power states were introduced, which can cause problems with group regulated units under certain workloads.

Thank you so much!

One extra question, how do you think the CX450M compares with the masterwatt 550?

Not entirely sure, I'd guess the CX is slightly better but I don't know too much about it.

@LienusLateTips is the PSU guru AFAIK.

Its okay thank you for your help.

Was reading some reviews online. Although it seems pretty good on paper, coil whine seem to be a huge issue for the masterwatt.

Hope @LienusLateTips can give some insights
