Helping Out a Student

Backstory: I am a 5th grade teacher and one of my students has really been wanting a gaming PC and has saved roughly $500USD to buy one.  He's having trouble finding affordable pre-builts so I offered to help him out.  I've been putting together some stuff on PCPartPicker to put together a rough build.  He mainly plays Fortnite, so I'm not wanting to go to overboard on GPU but I still want him to have something decent and somewhat future proof.  What do you all think so I can get this kid a decent first rig?

Notes:

- I have an AMD wraith cooler and a 1TB HDD to give him.

- I am considering one of the cheap $10-15 Windows 10 keys to save $100USD.  Is this a good idea?

- I'm not going to OC anything because it would be hard for him to troubleshoot.

- I am NOT an expert and don't pretend to be.

go for a cheaper PSU (i dont think you need gold for a $600 build).

get a wifi adapter with 5ghz (802.11ac). the current one only supports b/g/n. (even a usb adapter would be fine).

get a cheaper case (I like the Q300L).

that ram is overkill. 8gb@2933mhz is more than fine for fortnite for a kid.

you dont need b450 for an r1600 (use b350). use mobo in the $70 range.

add a cheap 1tb hard drive (~$45)

Thanks for the advice Saksham!  I'll definitely look at a different PSU and downgrading RAM.  Do you have to update the BIOS on a B350 before setting it up?  Thank you!

no. b350 is the original chipset that came when r1600 was released. but update the bios after setting everything up. (update everything).

This looks awesome!  Plus I already have an HDD for him, so that will make it even cheaper.  Thank you!

In your opinion, would it be a good idea to take the 45$ saved from already having an HDD and upgrade CPU to Ryzen 5 1600 or would that be overkill?  Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the list!  I'll definitely look at the 580 upgrade and using the HP M2.  Much appreciated!
