Macbook Pro Replacements

jad1202

So as most of you know; Apple's having an issue with the macbook pro keyboards.

I currently own the 13 inch with a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 128 ssd and 8g ram

I've had it to the apple store for a keyboard replacement but the issue is back again, and I'm tired of it.  I'm looking to sell this and get something with comparable power and I'm looking for suggestions.

XPS 13 and 15 are pretty good. They get kind of hot but Linus said they were pretty damn good.

Huawei Matebook X Pro or the Huawei Matebook 13 would be the closest.

the X Pro is probably the best thin-and-light on the market atm.

edit:

Matebook X Pro:

Go to an apple service center and get it replaced for free.

Love my xps 15. Huge battery, and a 8750h + 1050 ti, and doesn't throttle unless you are running Furmark + AIDA64. A thermal paste change + a little extra mounting pressure helps with temps.

Or just get rid of it because it will break again eventually.

I currently work at an apple service center. Out of the 100+ keyboards we've replaced, maybe 5 have came back.

Yeah Dells have good build quality. Especially older ones, they are basically tanks.

You know how many Dell's & HP's and Lenovo's I've replaced parts and the issue came back lol.

People that purchase apple products seem to think they're indestructible, when in reality, they mass produce parts just like all the other giants.

Well my 16 year old dell xps has been fine other than the graphics card sauter balls breaking. Which definitely didn't happen on older macbooks for years with nvidia graphics.

Use the keyabord replacement program again and get a fresh top case, resell it at a premium for its new keys and pick up something like the XPS 13.

I would avoid the Matebook.

closest Huawei Matebook 13 is this one. no USB A and no Thunderbolt.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAEYJ8HH4835&Description=dell xps 13&cm_re=dell_xps_13-_-1TS-000A-03V32-_-Product

and this would be the XPS you would be going for exactly at 899. sadly not too much storage. has thunderbolt and USB type A though.

I know, but Apple's macbooks have had continuous problems throughout models that lasted for more than they should have. The older macbooks that were white and plastc had horrendous gpu problems and they would just die after a year. This went on for a while and apple never really fixed it. This keyboard problem has been going on for a while and they're just replacing keyboards and saying, oh maybe it'll work this time! The iphone had bending problems and touch screen problems and the chips on the board lifting off and charged absurd amounts of money for fixing it. They get horribly slow too after a while. I have a old droid razr maxx somewhere and it still works fine, it's a little slow but usable. I hear some people still use that phone today just because they like the built in DAC. My friend iphone 5c was falling apart and dying. Eventually it decided to stop turning on and not hold a charge anymore and runs so horribly slow and doesn't support any apps made today. But i'll stop ranting now, this is why I never recommend apple products to people. They're just too expensive and they don't last long and some have issues that apple just doesn't fix.
